The weather may be hot, but all is not lost for your vegetable garden, even in late July. Fall tomato time is just around the corner! Learn the steps that should be taken now so your tomato transplants are ready for August planting. While the tomato is often thought of as a summer treat, the Houston climate offers a second chance for homegrown tomatoes in the fall! This class covers soil types, soil additives, site selection, tomato types, and fertilization.
PRESENTER:
Meg Tapp is the President of The Garden Club of Houston and leads workshops focusing primarily on backyard vegetable gardening. She’s a native Houstonian and has been gardening all her adult life. You will be entertained as you learn from her experiences in her own garden. She is the plant expert for the Houston Matters radio show on Houston Public Media, a regular guest on the Home Show Garden Pros Facebook Live show, and a presenter for Urban Harvest Educational Classes. She also travels around the country as a Horticulture Judge at Garden Club of America Flower Shows.
If you cannot attend the class as scheduled, there are no refunds or substitutions.
Registration will close 24 hours prior to most classes and 48 hours before all Sunday classes.
