    Saturday September 21st 9:30-11:30
Location: Houston Museum of Natural Science

The internet is a wonderful place to learn about gardening. It is also a place where myths and misinformation can spread like wildfire. Some of these myths are rooted in good information but, just like the old game of Telephone, it can end up twisted as it moves from poster to poster over the years. Some of them are harmless but are a waste of time and money. Others are outright harmful and can damage the gardens of the well-intentioned innocents that pick them up as fact because they come from a "garden expert". This class will address the myths we encounter most often. We will also share the best practice that replaces these myths.

    Presenter

Angela Chandler is a lifelong gardener and enjoys sharing her knowledge and passion with others. She and her husband tend a 1/2-acre micro-homestead, growing vegetables, fruits, herbs, and bee-friendly plants. Angela is currently a member of the Garden Writers Association, the California Rare Fruit Growers Association, and the Louisiana Society for Horticultural Research, as well as being a retired Texas Master Gardener. She has written feature articles in gardening magazines, appeared as a guest on both TV & Radio shows, spoken around the country at various events, and currently teaches a monthly class for the Urban Harvest/Houston Museum of Natural Science. Her website, The Garden Academy, provides its readers with a variety of gardening information geared specifically towards Gulf Coast gardens.

If you cannot attend the class as scheduled, there are no refunds or substitutions.

Registration will close 24 hours prior to most classes and 48 hours before all Sunday classes.

(At registration you will receive two emails, one is a receipt and the other will be sent a few days prior to the class with event details that include Zoom link (if necessary) and contact information. Contact education@urbanharvest.org for questions.)
