  3. Practical Permaculture: The Seven Layer Food Forest
  • Practical Permaculture: The Seven Layer Food Forest logo
  • Regenerative agriculture invites us to tend the land as a living system. Join us for a guided tour of the Seven Layers of the Food Forest Orchard system and an afternoon of community stewardship. Together, we’ll learn how natural systems shape healthy orchards, by capturing water and creating input by integrated native plants and high producing cultivars, practice seasonal maintenance, and participate in a hands-on pruning demonstration focused on tree health and long-term resilience.

We’ll close with a wild-foraging walk, exploring edible and medicinal plants that thrive in a well-tended ecosystem. This session is perfect for volunteers, students, and anyone excited to deepen their relationship with land care and permaculture regenerative design.
