Volunteer sign up for general information.
1. Individual Opportunities
- As an individual or a group of less than five (5), you can volunteer in our network of many affiliate gardens. After you have signed up, please go to Urban Harvest website to the Affiliate Garden page for the map of our network of gardens and find a location near you. Click on the location marker and the garden information will appear for your review. Please contact the garden lead listed and inquire about their garden schedule.
- Events and Classes – you can assist with pre–event/class setup/organization, execution, and breakdown. Examples are seed sorting for HUB distribution or class setup and registration in take for one of our many classes that are offered during the year. These will be available for viewing in the calendar once you register as a volunteer.
2. Group Opportunities
Corporate opportunities are great opportunities for you and your staff members to Give Back to your community and strengthen your employee team with a volunteer project just for your group. Corporate Group Rates are $1,700 which help cover costs of supplies, resources and equipment. Please contact Miss Hai Duong at hai@urbanharvest.org for these opportunities.
General Groups that do not have a budget but can provide labor assistance are greatly appreciated and welcomed to assist with garden maintenance at one of our many affiliate gardens. Please contact Miss Hai Duong at hai@urbanharvest.org for these opportunities as well.

In Support of Urban Harvest, Inc.
Urban Harvest cultivates thriving communities through gardening and access to healthy, local food. We are improving the lives, soil, and plates of all Houstonians through:
ORGANIC GARDENING & NUTRITION EDUCATION
Urban Harvest Classes teach and promote the benefits of organic gardening, ecological land management, and healthy food choices. In schools, our Garden Educators teach children about nature and the origins of their food through hands-on, experiential learning.
HEALTHY FOOD ACCESS
Through Double Up Houston, Urban Harvest is making fresh, healthy food accessible and affordable for all. Double Up Houston provides SNAP (formerly food stamps) beneficiaries with double the amount of fresh produce for every dollar spent at markets and farm stands across Houston.
COMMUNITY GARDENS
With a network of over 140 edible gardens throughout the Greater Houston area, it's easy to get involved in a garden near you. Urban Harvest provides affiliate gardens with volunteer engagement and workdays; seed and plant distributions; and, free education opportunities to help each garden become long-lasting and well-established for the community it serves.
FARMERS MARKETS
Get to know your farmer at Urban Harvest's Farmers Markets. Here, you will find the freshest farm and artisanal products, each grown, raised, and made within 180 miles of Houston. What’s more, your food dollars stay in the local economy.
