Join us for a class exploring the ins and outs of planting a spring garden here in Houston. Learn what you should be planting and how you should be preparing for the summer heat. You will learn hacks on soil, composting, and container gardening. Cost of class: $20
Presenter Kim Perry was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, where she received her bachelor's degree from Metropolitan State University in the field of Social Work. She also received her Master's degree in Agriculture Science from Texas A&M, and currently serves as the Director of Education with Urban Harvest where she oversees the Community Garden Program, school glasses and programs as well as the educational classes. Prior to that Kim was the Harris County Extension Agent for Prairie View University where she facilitated educational workshops and classes for farmers and urban gardeners. For the past six years Kim has been one of the Harris County Master Gardeners, and was awarded the Outstanding Service Award in 2020. She’s been featured on several news channels, in many blogs, newsletters, and educational speaking engagements. During her down time she loves to garden, paint and make soap.
